I was originally supposed to go to Sanyi in Miaoli with my girlfriend today but I was not able to sleep until the early hours of the morning because I was in stuck a hyperactive state due to too much caffeine. It was 2 P.M. by the time I woke up, so our plans to go down south fell through. I quickly proposed that we go enjoy the sunset at Baishawan, as my girlfriend was getting irritated (I hadn't taken her out in a while, since a trip to Japan in June).
After I dusted off my long-forgotten camera (though I knew that there wouldn't be much to photograph, especially not the ugly north coast), I changed into something casual and looked outside the window at the clear sky. My heart was screaming: Here we come, Baishawan! Just as it was starting to feel a bit romantic, our two Shiba Inus began to whine, as if begging us not to leave them at home. In a moment of weakness, I decided to bring the two dumb mutts along as they had not been on an outing in a while.
今天原本與女友要去苗栗三義。不過過量的咖啡因讓昨晚的精神呈現}始發出悲鳴的聲音，ㄠㄨ∼！似乎是在哀求我們不要把牠們丟在家裡。當下心一軟，反正也好久沒帶他們出來玩，那就辛苦一點帶這兩隻笨狗一起去吧。
It was an arduous journey from Shilin to Baishawan; we were stuck in a traffic jam from Dadu road all the way to Denghui Boulevard. I guess everyone was taking advantage of the lower petrol prices to go on long-awaited trips during this sunny weekend. Though it was nearly dusk by the time we got to Baishawan, we were so excited about seeing the ocean that we were about to burst with anticipation. With no regard for my girlfriend's pampered legs, I dragged Luna towards the sea, shouting, "Ocean, here I come!"
Once we reached the shore though, oh my god! What I could see in front of me stunned me. What a crappy place, full of garbage and driftwood. When did Baishawan become like this? Maybe it's because no one is in charge of maintenance now that the summer is gone and the beach is now left on its own to deal with visitors who have no sense of public decency. Anyway, I looked over to the horizon, away from the beach and tried to see if I would feel a bit better.
這一路從士林開到白沙灣還真是辛苦。從大度路開始一路大塞車，直到登輝大道才開始好走。看來最近油價下跌，很多人大概是隱忍很久了，趁假日好天氣，把車開上路卯起來燒汽油。到達白沙灣時雖已經接近傍晚時分，但等待看海的心情可正達到爆血漿程}流木，這是什麼鬼地方呀！曾幾何時，白沙灣變成這種鳥樣。也許是夏季已過，所以白沙灣現}鍊子看著我家那兩隻笨狗在海邊狂奔，原本應該是很開心的，但又擔心牠們會踩到傳說中的針頭，沒多久就趕緊把牠們叫回來。心裡其實蠻不捨這片沙灘變成這付模樣，看來台北縣行政排名最後一名，還真不是浪得虛名（寫到這獻給周錫瑋縣長一句話：你好樣兒的！）。腳踩著浪花，但心不怎麼浪漫。
